"ART" only becoz of the content and not intent. shot on borrowed-mini-DV and sped-up in iMove (above-vid) - see "regular"-spped version below. music via Orange (and 747 Dub from Sounds of PAN AM)

wizard's workshop

i lurve me my dioramas. shot via borrowed mini-DV, with Ryuichi Sakamoto playing beyond yonder castle's peak. [youtubed / older version]

dunny review

no, this is not "art" in any direct form or intent. this is a straight-up video toy-review meant to thank the sponsors for the prizzes and to practise chronological sequencing. but i am just utterly amazed that it has just passed the 16,000th-mark (as of this blog-post-date), and that to me is fucking amazing and mindblowing.

shot on mini-DV, hung overhead staging area via cable-tie on aluminium-tubes edged on shelves. with music by: intro-sample from DJ Shadow's Six Days / Mos Def remix / main-track: "Antique Toys" by Future Sound of London. [youtubed]

flood

Mother's Day 2006, enroute to a family dinner, the drainage over-flooded with love. cliched? not with Alter Bridge's "In Loving Memory". shot with digi-cam.

in the mood ... for food ... yet another flippant 1.61MB video for kicks, groovin' to the familiar tune of In The Mood For Love (so what if im bein' cheezy *HAH*)

travelling nowhere

where are we going? where am i going? NoWhere ... just remember the lil stops in life - reminiscing with The Future Sound Of London's Max - delving into my (very) personal fears and haunting demons, a late-reflection of thy life, hoping it's not too late. shot via digi-cam entirely @ Changi Airport. oblivion.05

it doesn't sync? = welcome to the oblivion of thy mind! sometimes it works only in thy imagination and reality is harsh, but to say the least and unforgiving to imperfection, least of all me - the Future Sound of London mixingitup with Ryuichi Sakamoto in an reharsed/visual/orgy. shot on DV entirely in my personal grotto. recycled footage, actually. [youtube-link]

night falls

1.24MB of nature's own reality-show. time-lapsed on a weekend early evening, locked on a quasi-tripod and let roll - digitizing was a bitch. all audio stock sound effects. tunnage: RECOIL's 1+2 (remixed DepecheMode, i reckon = cool) [links: quicktime / youtube]

oblivion.04

indulge me my first proper (or at least closest to) a "narrative structure" piece (as it may ever will be), 2+1/2minutes of me wallowing in my sanctuary, to one of my fav tunnage from Ryuichi Sakamoto via his (unplugged) album 1996. shot on DV entirely in my broom. the set was the tripod.

washed away

made from found-footage back in ye days when i could "experiment" with visuals for doing opening-titles of teeveeshows - tapping yer feets along with Arrested Development at 2.91MB. you have a choice: a fleeting moment of glory, or a prolonged erosion of your craft?
[youtube-link]

makin' art

the notion of "ART" had always fascinated me, how do you define or determine it? wouldn't it be easier just to LABEL it yourselves? let the value of it be determined by the price tag and eyes of the viewer innit? but by adding the WORD in the presentation, does it maketh ART? made from found-footage with music by Arrested Development = what do YOU consider to be art? [youtube-link]

kopi tiam tok

akan datang (ie: would probably never be made) it would've been a pretty fun ride tho - quasi-social commentary at best, but a buncha old friends mucking about is always fun (:p) and im such a suckah for late-night teh-tariks myself ... shot on a digi-cam with music from the soundtrack of Il Postino. [youtubed]

swirl

be still as the world spins round and around and around = muckin' about in me bedroom at gawd-knows-wad-time in the dearth of morn, 5.48MB's worth of dizziness and locked-elbows - an worthwhile experiment riffin' Darren Aronofsky's Pi to the deluded majesty of Tako drums via Rising Sun soundtrack. shot on DV. [links: quicktime / youtubed]

ride back

...for as far as you ride back in time, you will still arrive at the now ... and all you do is smile a bittersweet smile = this is one of my personal favs, a personal reflection of what is, could have been and what will be, shot entirely via digi-cam, my friend's shoulder as tripod - to the strains of Yoshiyuki Sahashi, running at 6.52MB. late-night teh-tarik has never been this fulfilling :) [quicktime / youtubed]

vroom

speedin' in da east = 10.01megabytes' worth of dizzying dark-shadowed-glimmers las vegas ride of da east Beastie Boys riding pillon - shot entirely on digi-cam and fcukedup in iMovie. my dream is to one day make a full-screen-full-length version of this strap you guys in and ply you with booze and smokes, and hope that you'll up-chuck but with a satisfied smile. [youtubed]

oblivion.03

echo to myself = 1.66MB of reharsed reimagined-images to the wails of Bjork and Winx, a mindscape-manifesto monochromed in tangerine; primordial-brain.ooze disguised as entertainment.
shot on mini-DV and editraped in iMovie.

[quicktime / youtubed]

oblivion.02

listen ... to nothing - first "experiment" with audioscape with sounds from Josh Winx, via basic iMovie and severly-abused after visuals shot initially on mini-DV. i likie. and i don't really care if you don't.

shavin' with james brown

this would be what i term "regrettable-narcissism" = tis just me shaving my beard (for reservsist) on a Saturday night, but severely fcukedup in post, with a tinge of vanity thrown into the mix. the fact that James Brown's *I Got The Feeling* was relevant to me personally (i would've had the deluded opportunity to direct my 1st feature) - to everyone else, it IS vanity. heh.

oblivion.01

a collection of me pix in stomach-hurling 8.17MB-motion (all insert images taken by myself) with music via: Cross The Tracks (We Better Go Back) by Maceo & The Macks - from the soundtrack of "Snatch" ... a basic experiment in making still visuals "move" ... [quicktime / youtubed]

angry toys and tricky ~ twelve-inches of plastic with pre-millennium tension ~ swathed in cliches i beg thee forgiveness, for this is my second-born, weighing in at 2.55MB ... i will improve :)

[quicktime / youtubed]

is this art?

struggling muckin' about in iMovie spawned this wittle 2.28MB-pink-o-eyesore assembled from old found footage and screeched to the strains of Ken Ishii's Fatspinning Loop 2 and haunted past squeals ~ my firstborn ... pls be gentle? [quicktime / youtubed

and this blog was started becoz i had wanted a single place (outside of my own portfolio-sites) where i can list and present my personal homemade videoclips clearly; without the "clutter" of other stuff. or basically becoz i is finicky and am attempting to reorganize everything in me life. heh. i have a blog somewhere else and i post lottsa pictures on me multiply + flickr. this here is just my videos. 'nuff said :)

*all video-clips are viewable on quicktime and accessible via the links indicated*

please do pardon the amateurish productions, as i have only just started to edit on iMovie and am working with music that i have no copyright access to (anyone interested to collaborate with original music?); so as the title banner says: no commercial reproduction please, all you see here are for personal reference and gratification only. tho linking me would be great (just drop me an email, yeah?) and any and all constructive feedback would be mondo appreciated. really. enjoy :)
